Why did I get into the real estate business?
I first joined the industry about 15 years ago for two reasons: 1) I like to help people, and 2) I love to solve problems. And let's face it: The problems that can arise in the real estate business can either be very simple or very complicated.
Another reason is that my father was also in the real estate industry. I remember being a little kid sitting in his big, leather chair and watching him put together deals—I thought it was the coolest thing in the world.
My current family is another factor. As a business owner, I want to create a legacy for my daughter, Catalina.
So what sets the Haigh Group apart from other agents that you might choose out there?
One of the biggest factors that distinguishes us is that we’re a team. When you’re a single agent, handling everything on your own can be really difficult, and in your efforts to run your business, some important things can fall through the cracks. After all, there’s a lot that goes into a transaction after the deal has been put together.
We have a full-time listing and transaction coordinator, Monique, and she is absolutely awesome. I’m mostly a listing agent myself, so the buyer’s agents work on the buyer side for the most part. Much of my time is spent managing the team and working with listings, and Monique handles everything soup to nuts.
Monique’s daughter, Candace, also works on our team as our operations manager. She helps to do a lot of little things that maintain the cohesiveness of our team.
Additionally, my own 15 years of experience goes a long way. I’ve seen most everything before, but every now and then, a new scenario comes up and I always challenge myself to rise to the occasion.
As a buyer, if you ever have an issue in your transaction, our team is always a phone call away. Sellers on the listing side have access to full professional photography, video, virtual tours, drone photography, and top billing on all of the major search engines like Zillow, Trulia, and the rest.
Speaking of, our web presence is our strong suit. I’ve been carving out our niche on the web for about 10 years now, and though I still think that face-to-face interactions are important, there’s no denying the importance of internet presence in real estate. Our website has all the latest listings that crop up in our market, and unlike Zillow and the rest, ours only features up-to-date information. Remember that those popular sites are web advertising sites disguised as data sites—they give you some information about listings, but it’s often outdated.
